Welcome to Le chapeau d'a. By accessing this website (www.le-chapeauda.com) and booking our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. General Provisions

These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between Hervé Tisserand, operating under the name "Le chapeau d'a" (hereinafter "the Provider"), and the client or student (hereinafter "the Client"). Services provided include online French lessons, English-to-French translation, and the sale of digital language learning resources.

2. Online French Lessons

• Booking & Payment: Lessons must be booked and paid for in advance. Payments are accepted via PayPal or bank transfer (within Japan only). Packages of 4 or 8 lessons must be completed within the agreed timeframe (usually within 2 or 3 months from the date of purchase).
• Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy: We understand that schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, you must notify the Provider at least 24 hours in advance. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours' notice, or in the case of a "no-show," the lesson will be charged in full and cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
• Technical Issues: Lessons are conducted via Zoom. It is the Client's responsibility to ensure a stable internet connection and functional audio/video equipment. If a lesson cannot proceed due to the Provider's technical issues, it will be rescheduled at no extra cost.

3. Translation Services

• Quotes & Acceptance: Translation projects begin only after the Client has approved a written quote (sent via email) and, if required, paid the requested deposit.
• Delivery: The delivery deadline is agreed upon in the quote. The Provider commits to respecting this deadline, provided the Client supplies all necessary source documents on time.
• Payment Terms: Invoices are usually payable within 30 days of the invoice date unless stated otherwise in the initial agreement. Late payments may result in late fees according to applicable laws.
• Confidentiality: The Provider guarantees absolute confidentiality regarding all documents, business information, and data shared by the Client for translation purposes.

4. Shop & Digital Resources

We sell digital products (PDF guides, cheat sheets, ebooks) hosted and processed through our partner platform, Payhip.

• Refund Policy: Due to the immediate and intangible nature of digital downloads, all sales of digital products are final and non-refundable once the download link has been provided.
• Usage: Purchasing a digital product grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the material for your own study. You may not resell, distribute, or share these files publicly.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including but not limited to texts, logos, graphics, teaching materials, and blog articles, is the intellectual property of Hervé Tisserand / Le chapeau d'a, unless otherwise noted. Unauthorized reproduction, modification, or distribution is strictly prohibited.

6. Limitation of Liability

While the Provider strives to offer the highest quality of teaching and translation, Le chapeau d'a cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect damages, loss of business, or failure to pass an official language exam resulting from the use of our services or website.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
